**  Fund-a-Need **

The goal of the 2018 Law and Order Ball Fund-A-Need is to provide Mass Casualty Kits for local schools to support the state mandate that all Florida School Districts provide School Resource Officers for every public school. By working with seven Lee County Law Enforcement Agencies, we hope to better equip personnel in times of crisis. These agencies requested two mass trauma kits for every single school in the Lee County School District, as well as Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida Southwestern State College. Rotary Club of Fort Myers South continues to support the efforts of the Lee County Port Authority as a partner in the Law and Order Ball and will also be providing Mass Casualty Kits to public spaces within Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field.

A Mass Casualty Kit provides multiple first aid supplies to stop bleeding and treat injuries until emergency assistance arrives. The Mass Casualty Kits include tourniquets, bandages, and Quick Clotting agents to “stop the bleed” within 1.9 seconds.

The average cost per Mass Casualty Kit, which contains 10 individual kits housed in one case, is $750. We will use local vendor, LeeSar, to provide this kit. Based on $750/kit, the total project cost is $186,000.

To help us fund the need, please click on the Fund-a-Need button below and choose your donation amount. We appreciate your support in keeping the Southwest Florida community safe!
