2020 Matters of the Heart Auction 

 
The annual auction is the major mechanism for the Wallingford United Methodist Church and Wallingford Childcare Center to fund:
  • Under One Roof! The Building and Grounds Committee for upkeep of our shared building and major capital improvements. Building funding request TBD
  • Scholarships for youth in the Church's Sister Parish in Guarjila, El Salvador
 
If you would like to donate to one of these funds prior to the auction, or to simply donate funds to help with the event, visit the Cash Donation page.
 
The auction will again feature unique items and experiences to bid on to support our community. We are currently procuring items for the silent and live auctions. A preview of the catalog can be browsed by selecting the categories on the left of the screen.

Returning Again This Year - More Ticket Levels to Promote Equity

The annual auction not only serves as an important funding source for the church and childcare center, it is also a fun event around which we build and strengthen the Wallingford UMC and Childcare community. We value all members of the community and want everyone to participate in and enrich this event. We have introduced multiple giving levels for tickets to the auction, ranging from $10 to $1,000, in the hope of promoting greater equity.
 
$100 covers the cost of your evening, but please give whatever you are able and come enjoy the party!
 
RSVP  now to select your ticket donation level. UPDATE: Please note that ticket sales end at midnight on Sunday, Feb. 23rd. After that, anyone interested in attending should notify Kate McKenzie or Pam Xander to get on the wait list. If there are cancellations, we notify wait list in order of sign up. Please note that those on the wait list that are admitted because of a cancellation will provide payment at their selected level will be served the entree that was originally ordered.

Event Information

This year's auction will be held at the picturesque Ballard Bay Club on Shilshole Bay.
 
Date: Saturday, February 29, 2020
Time: 5:30-10:00 pm
 
Schedule of Events:
5:30 - 7:00: The first 1 and 1/2 hours of drinks are on the house! Enjoy a host bar happy hour, passed appetizers, and socialization during the silent auction. Be sure to arrive early to soak in the beautiful views of the sunset over Puget Sound.
7:30 - 10:00: Savor a plated dinner with entree, salad, and two sides during the live auction. Team up with the friends at your table to pick a homemade dessert in the dessert dash.

Vegetarian: Vegan White Bean "Cassoulet" with Braised Vegetables, Smoked Tomatoes and Parmesan Bread Crumbs
Beef: Braised Beef Short Ribs, Smoked Tomato Beef Jus, Chef's Seasonal Vegetable, Whipped Buttermilk Herb Potatoes, Crispy Leeks 
Salmon: Herb Seared Wild Salmon with Creamy Tarragon & Pickled Shallot Sauce, Crispy Onions, Wilted Hearty Greens with Garlic, Whole Grain Mustard Smashed Potatoes
