A 129 - 2017 Concha y Toro 'Gravas Rojas del Maipo' Cabernet Sauvignon

Critic tasting note: (2017 vintage) "Concha y Toro gets some of its best cabernet sauvignons from its Tocornal Vineyard, including Don Melchor. This Gravas comes from those alluvial vineyards in Puente Alto, Chile, and this vintage contains 85% cabernet sauvignon, 10% cabernet franc, 2% merlot, and 3% petit verdot. Obviously, Don Melchor has priority in the choice of vineyards and barrels, and once those lots are determined, they begin selecting the components for Gravas Rojas. This year, the 10% cabernet franc portion seems to have a lot of importance in the result and offers a touch of tobacco and spices, while the tannins are rigid in a wine with a lot of succulent, juicy fruit." - Patricio Tapia - Descorchados
