Enjoy a glorious summer day on Puget Sound! Depart Shilshole Marina in the morning on a 24-foot motor boat and head to Blake Island for a hike around the island and a picnic on the beach. On the way, we’ll keep an eye out for seals and sea lions (do you know the difference?)! The island is home to a variety of wildlife, including deer and raccoons that can be seen foraging on the beach. After exploring Tillicum Village (home of Chief Seattle) and Blake Island we’ll head north around Bainbridge Island through Agate Pass and into Port Madison. We’ll pull up some crab traps in the afternoon on the way back to Shilshole and you’ll keep the day’s catch of fresh Dungeness crab to feast on for your dinner! You’ll be in good hands with your hosts, Brian Cromer and Renee Devine (son Finn Cromer in sixth grade) who are both licensed captains and spent many years travelling the world while working on large yachts before making Seattle their home. This adventure is best experienced in the warm summer months on a Saturday or Sunday. We can schedule a mutually agreeable weekend and maintain some flexibility regarding weather. The well found vessel can take a maximum of four guests - a family of four or two couples. We’ll supply food, beverages, and safety equipment. Be sure to bring your camera!
