Based in Bellingham, Mary Ennes Davis shows her work, which includes collage, murals, history walls, assemlage, and sculpture, nationally. The Guardians rose out of the ashes of September 11th when she created small angels to tuck into Christmas stockings with her son. Word spread and so did their wings. They can now be found globally hanging in the entrances of hospitals, schools, court houses, and homes. The pieces are thematic and are designed around their components. Guardian of Family History is made of reclaimed wood, salvaged household items, vintage glass slides and hardware, and archival photographs from Whatcom County.
