Andrew Vallee has been working as an artist in the Pacific Northwest for 30 years. Elements of the natural world are the predominant subjects his artwork. Sea Urchin and Sand is sculpted out of Polly chromed maple and black walnut. This piece is one of a series of sea urchins, inspired by the time he spent walking the coast line and snorkeling on the island of Kauai. He spends several months out of the year working in his studio there.
