Does the Auction cost anything to attend?

Yes and no! If you would like to come to the IN-PERSON event held at Odessa Community Center on Friday, May 6, 2022 for our traditional event including appetizers, wine and microbrew tastings, silent and live auction, and fun side games, then you will need to purchase a ticket for $20. Tickets can be purchased online here or at Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center or The Odessa Drug Store. This event is a 21 and older-only event.

If you are unable to attend the in-person auction, you still have the opportunity to support the OHF by being a Virtual/Remote Attendee at no cost. This would allow you to bid on items in our Silent Auction or Dessert Auction. These options will be available on our Text2Bid platform beginning Sunday, May 1 at 10am. To participate as a Virtual/Remote Attendee, follow the instructions on the homepage of this website to register for Text2Bid.

As a Virtual/Remote Attendee can I see what is happening at the in-person event?

No. We will not be live streaming the event. As a Virtual/Remote Attendee, you will have access to bid on our Silent Auction and Dessert Auction only.

What if I only want to bid on the Live Auction, do I still need Text2Bid?

No. The Live Auction bidding will be done as it had been in years past. You will be given a card with your bidder number on it when you arrive at the in-person event and will use this to raise and bid during the live auction. A $20 ticket to attend the in-person event will be required though. 

When can I start bidding on items?

The Silent Auction and Dessert Auction items will be open for bidding to both in-person attendees and Virtual/Remote Attendees beginning Sunday, May 1 at 10am through the Text2Bid portal. The Silent Auction will close in three sections starting with Section 1 and ending with Section 3 on Friday, May 6th. Section 1 will close at 7:30pm, Section 2 will close 7:45pm, Section 3 will close at 8:00pm and the Dessert Auction will close at 8:15pm. All Silent and Dessert Auction items will be on display during the event. Regardless of where you are when you are bidding on these items, all winnings must be picked up before 11pm on Friday, May 6th, or between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, May 7th at the Odessa Community Center.

The LIVE Auction Items will appear on the Text2Bid app for viewing, but bidding for live auction packages will only happen at the in-person event.

How does Raise the Paddle work?

Our Raise the Paddle item this year is a new commercial cooktop with an accommodating island for Quail Court, Odessa’s assisted living facility. During the live auction, we will take a break from bidding on the packages in order for attendees to raise their paddles (bidder number cards) to donate an amount of their choosing that will go directly to this designated project. If you are not in attendance, we always welcome donations via check to: Odessa Healthcare Foundation, PO Box 368, Odessa, WA 99159.

How do I get into Text2Bid?

The Text2Bid function will not be available until Sunday, May 1st. Once it is 10am on Sunday, May 1st, just text ODESSA to 71760. You will be asked some questions and then be ready to bid. Anytime you need to get back to the bidding site, simply text ODESSA to 71760 and it will get you there. You will not need to create a new registration as your phone number will be connected to your account.

Can I use Text2Bid from my computer instead of a smartphone?

Yes! Follow the link on our auction’s homepage to register through your web browser, and follow the same steps to return and bid during the following days. Please note, the use of a computer at the in-person event will not be available. 

What if I won’t be able to watch the Silent Auction or Dessert Auction as they’re closing to know if I win or not?

Text2Bid has an Auto Bid function! Once bidding has started, for any item you choose you will be able to set a max bid that you are comfortable with and Text2Bid will continue to automatically outbid anyone for you until your max limit has been reached. If you get in a bidding war and your max limit has been reached, you will receive a text alert (as long as you keep this setting on in your My Info section) to let you know that you have been outbid should you choose to up your limit. If you win an item before your max limit is reached, then you will only be charged the winning bid amount, not your max amount. This must be done separately on each item you would like to use the function on. Use the My Items section of Text2Bid to find all of the items you are bidding on and/or win.

Text2Bid is not accepting my Auto Bid. What do I do?

Do not use decimals or commas when putting in your bid.

What if I need assistance with Text2Bid during the event?

At the in-person event at the Odessa Community Center, we will have a Tech Support station set up to answer any questions you may have. If you will not be attending in person, please direct any questions to: ohealthcarefoundation@gmail.com for assistance.  

Where do I put in a credit card to bid?

Text2Bid will not be processing payments this year. If you do not attend the in-person event, all payments must be processed at the time items are picked up. You will be able to pay by credit card, cash or check. If you are at the in-person event, you are still able to use any of those three payment options, but payment must be made before you leave for the evening. If you would like to pay by credit card, we encourage you to save your payment information at the time of purchasing tickets online through our website, or swiping your card as soon as you enter the event to avoid waiting in lines at the end of the evening. Your card will not be charged unless you win something, or put a wine/beer purchase or side game on your bidder number. Even if you pre-swipe or save your credit card information, we will always be able to print you out an itemized invoice/receipt or process your payment by another method if you change your mind.

What if I want to pay with cash or check?

You are welcome to do so! Even if you swiped or saved your credit card, you are welcome to change your mind and your bill will be shown as PAID and will not be charged. Cash, check or credit card payment are options for both in-person or Text2Bid.

When will my credit card be charged?

We will charge your card the morning of Sunday, May 8th after all of the items have been picked up and paid for.

How do I get my bidder number?

Although Text2Bid may auto-assign you a bidder number for the site, that number may change in order to match your in-person number as we will be assigning numbers as registrations come in. Both your Text2Bid number and in-person number will match for billing purposes to avoid having more than one invoice created per person.

Will I be able to see all of my charges in one place at the end of the night?

If you attend the in-person event, you will be able to ask for a printed version of your charges at the end of the evening, we do ask for a bit of time to add the final live auction package charges in. If you won something on Text2Bid, you will see those items you have purchased in an itemized receipt that can be found under a button called "My Bill". If you won a silent auction or dessert auction item and also attended in person with additional charges to your bidder number, everything will show up on your printed invoice but only Text2Bid winning will show up on your Text2Bid site.

What if I am having problems with getting registered or buying tickets?

What happens if I save my credit card information but I don’t end up buying anything or pay with cash or check?

Nothing. You will not be charged anything.

What if I just want to make a donation to support the Odessa Healthcare Foundation?

Check donations can be mailed to the Odessa Healthcare Foundation at P.O. Box 368, Odessa, WA 99159. Please note “Cash Donation” in the memo.

If I win something, how do I get my item?

If you are at the event, you will receive it that night. If you are a Virtual/Remote attendee, you may pick up your item at the Odessa Community Center the next day, Saturday, May 7th between 10am and 3pm.

Is the Odessa Healthcare Foundation a non-profit organization?

Yes.

What do the proceeds for this event support?

The proceeds from this event will support the purchase of a new aquatic therapy pool for the Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center’s Physical Therapy Department. This is a large project but one that the OHF Board feels will greatly benefit our community. All proceeds from the Raise the Paddle will go towards purchasing a commercial cooktop and accommodating island in Quail Court’s kitchen.
