ST. LAWRENCE SOCIETY
 
The St. Lawrence Society acknowledges gifts of $10,000 or more to the poor through Catholic Charities. Members of the St. Lawrence Society will be invited to an annual exclusive event. Acting as Treasurer for the Church during the third century, St. Lawrence directed efforts of the Church to care for the poor. Captured during the persecutions, St. Lawrence agreed to surrender the treasures of the Church to the Romans. He gathered the sick, aged, poor, widows and orphans and presented them to the Romans saying, “These are the treasures of the Church.”
